Welcome
Drip Drop Acres is a small farm bringing together art and agriculture in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
Hello, my name is Virginia. I live on the land where my grandmother grew up, and generations before her spent their lives as dairy farmers. My husband and I started Drip Drop Acres in 2016, by putting up 15 taps in the sugar bush that once kept my great grandparents in sweet maple syrup. The mineral content of our soil, coupled with our big mother maples and small batch boils, contributes to the deliciously robust flavor of our syrup. In 2020 we jumped to 575 taps, as we moved into our newly built sugar house. We also grow small fruits and harvest honey from our hives.
My education is in the arts, I have a Master of Fine Arts from Ohio University, and a Bachelors of Fine Art from SUNY Potsdam. Agriculture was not on my radar until I realized so much of my work stemmed from summers in Vermont, helping my grandmother grow things. While my husband, Kristopher, and I grow the agricultural side of Drop Drop Acres, we are also working to build an on-farm residency artist residency program. I continue to express myself visually, explore non-toxic printmaking techniques, and teach at the Community College of Vermont.
